How do I install software on my EWU managed Windows computer? (Company Portal)
There are several ways to install software on EWU managed Windows computers. EWU IT manages an App store with many productivity and commonly used software options named Company Portal.
On older computers the App store is called Software Center.
- Company portal is designed to be user friendly and make the installation of work approved applications a breeze. To get started, tap the windows key to launch the search function of windows and type Company Portal.
- The first search result will be the Company Portal App. Click on it to launch.

NOTE: If Company Portal is not an option your computer is using an old image of Windows. - If this is your first time opening company portal, you may be asked to sign in. If so click the Sign In button and follow the prompts to sign in with your SSO information.
NOTE: If you have trouble signing in, contact the Help Desk for assistance.
- There are two ways to find the software that you'd like to install: The search bar at the top or the Apps menu on the left.

If you know the name of the app, search for it in the field at the top. If you'd like to see a list of all available apps, click on the Apps menu on the left.
- Once you've found the App you'd like to install, click on the Tile. In this example, we will use Mozilla Firefox.

- Details of the App you have selected will load. Select Install to begin the installation.

- Keep an eye on the status bar at the top right to track the progress of the installation. Depending on the size of the app and how busy the service is installing software for other users, this process can take several minutes.

- When the installation has completed a notification banner will display at the bottom of your monitor.

- Once finished, tap on the windows key of your keyboard to search for the app that you just installed to launch it.
If you'd like to uninstall software that has been installed via Company Portal, click on the Downloads & updates link from the left side menu.

Scroll through the list of installed software and select the App you'd like to remove. In our example we'll use Mozilla Firefox once more.

Once the details page loads, select the Uninstall button to remove the App.

If you wish install applications that are not available in Software Center or Company Portal, you must use Make Me Admin application installed on your Windows PC.
