Purchasing guide for Apple computers and devices
This article is a guide for Purchasing Agents to submit orders for Apple computers and devices:
- Visit EWU's Apple Store at https://ecommerce.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID that is configured as a "Proposer" or "Registered Proposer".
- You will see a listing of approved computers in the "Recommended for you" section. Click Buy Now for computer(s) you want to purchase.
- Select all items (computer, warranty, adapter with laptops, etc) by clicking the check box at top of list (or individual check boxes). Click Add to Cart.
- After adding to Cart, if you need to make any changes to hardware specs (RAM, hard drive size, etc), click the CONFIGURE link, located in computer details. After making changes, click UPDATE.
- Create a Proposal. To do this, click the Create Proposal link. IMPORTANT: While filling out proposal details, you must include the name(s) of people receiving computer(s) in the Proposal Comments field. When you are done, click Submit Proposal.
- Create a Purchase Request being sure to attach the proposal from step 5. Doing so will trigger Procurement to submit the order with the vendor.
-
The Purchasing Department receives the Purchase Request and converts the quote to an order in Banner. This process generates a PO number that will be used to track the order.
-
The final step is to notify EWU IT of your purchase. This enables us to expect your device and know who to contact when it is ready for delivery. Use one of the two service requests below (one is for computers meant for an individual, and the other is for a shared computer that won't be used by one specific user) and be sure to add the PO Number that you were provided from Purchasing in Step 5.
- If the hardware being ordered is assigned to a specific person, use the Computer Hardware Purchase (Individual) service request.
OR
- If the hardware being ordered is for a classroom, lab or other location where the hardware is not assigned to a specific individual, use the Bulk Computer Hardware Purchase service request.
Note: It is very important to create a separate service request for reach person receiving computer hardware. No exceptions.
Note: If you are not a Purchasing Agent and wish to submit an order for Apple computers or devices, please see the Order guide for purchasing Apple computers and devices article.
