Enrolling in Duo
Enrollment in Duo 2FA is a requirement for all faculty, staff and students. These instructions will guide you through the initial set up of the account.
This process requires a cell phone, or tablet. A smart phone is not required.
Also, International numbers are NOT supported. If you have a device with an international number, see this support article - Adding a device with an international phone number to Duo 2FA
- Navigate to https://inside.ewu.edu/2fa and click on Register.
- Acknowledge that you have a mobile device by clicking on the check box, then the submit button.
- Sign in with your EWU e-mail address and SSO password.
- After authenticating with your username and password, an enrollment start screen will be shown. Click Next.

- If you have a smart phone, select Duo Mobile. If you a non-smart phone, select Phone Number.

- Enter your 10-digit phone number in the prompt and continue.
Note: International numbers are not supported.

- If you are using a smart phone, download the Duo Mobile app from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Then click Next from the prompt on your computer.

- A QR code will appear. Use the Duo Mobile App to scan the code.
- Follow the prompts in the Duo App to complete the set up process. Duo mobile will automatically name your account Eastern Washington University and offer a quick tutorial on approving or denying logins.
