Windows Lectern PC's & Laptops: Display Settings -> DUPLICATE vs EXTEND modes
Some people run into issues with Projector output in classrooms. This may be due to the Windows Lectern PC or Laptop Display Settings set to EXTEND mode. Most people need Display Settings to be set to DUPLICATE mode.
- A fast easy way to switch Display Settings between DUPLICATE and EXTEND modes: From the keyboard, press Windows Menu key
and the letter P at the same time (P stands for PROJECT).- If you do not see the display options in the lower right area, continue pressing the Windows Menu key and the letter P to toggle through the different modes, until your preferred option is selected.
- Normally most people use DUPLICATE. Some people may use EXTEND.
- Definitions:
- DUPLICATE: The Windows Lectern monitor output is the same as the Projector output.
- EXTEND: The Windows Lectern monitor output (Display #1) is separate from the Projector output (Display #2).
- EXTEND mode can sometimes cause confusion.

Thank you.
