How to log into/Log out of a Hunt group on a Cisco IP Phone
The "hunt group" button is placed on department phones, including Jabber soft-phones, that intend to log in and out of the hunt groups to answer a specific phone line. If you don't have a "hunt group" button/option listed on your device, please contact EWU IT at support.ewu.edu or 509.359.2247 to add the button Hunt Group button template.
On your device locate the lower soft-keys. (These keys are the lower row of 4 keys that usually have "Redial", "New Call" and or "Forward All" listed above them. Need additional help finding soft-keys? Refer to the attached quick start guides below.)
Login Instructions
- On larger devices such as the Cisco 8841/8811 phones, Press the far right bottom soft-key with the three dots above it to see more options. OR select the far right bottom soft-key with "More" above it on 7800 series devices.
- Keep pressing it until you see the "Hunt Group" option.
- Press correct Soft-key botton under "hunt group" to start the log in process.
- The display will flash "You have successfully logged into the hunt group". (If it says "You have successfully logged out of the hunt group." press it again.)
Logout Instructions
- Press the "hunt group" button on the lower section of your phone's screen.
- The display will flash "You have successfully logged out of the hunt group."
