Cisco 7941 and 7961 desk phones have a common issue of the handset hook-switch failing. What this means, is that when you answer a call via your handset the call continues to ring and is not answered. You will have to tap your hook-switch lever or put the call on speakerphone to answer the call. Both workarounds are not ideal.

SOLUTION: Put in a EWU IT help desk ticket to replace the defective device, you can do this by calling 509.359.2247 or at be sure to provide your building office number and desk phone number. We will replace the device with a new equivalent model. Typically this is the two line, Cisco 7821. If you need a Multi-line device, a $150 upgrade fee may apply.
