EWU IT has developed a collection of pre-approved enterprise level computer hardware that is supported by IT. Below is a best practice guide. The goal is a 2-4 week turn-around time from order to client delivery/setup. Processing time may vary based on product availability, shipping times, and volume of hardware being received.  Please send suggested edits to Jack Dechenne, jdechenne@ewu.edu or Carl Combs, ccombs@ewu.edu, with goal of continual improvement!

Overview:

  1. Determine which hardware will best meet your needs by talking with your IT Coordinator, or contacting the HelpDesk (helpdesk@ewu.edu, 359-2247). A quick reference listing of computers and accessories that meet EWU hardware standards, and are supported by IT, are listed further below.

  2. Notify your purchasing agent as to the type of computer hardware you would like to order.

  3. Anyone with "Proposer" or "Registered Proposer" permissions creates a Proposal at EWU’s Apple Store: https://ecommerce.apple.com

  4. The purchasing agent creates a PR, sends the Proposal to the Purchasing Department, and creates an IT Service Request.  All laptop or desktop computer purchases must be paid with Purchase Orders only. Any peripherals (dongles, cables, adapters, etc) can be purchased with a P-card from other vendors as needed (Amazon, etc).

  5. Please contact your IT Coordinator or the Help Desk if you need further assistance (HelpDesk@ewu.edu) or 509-359-2247.
