Lenovo is experiencing supply constraints for touch screens on Lenovo T14 laptops until March 2021. To minimize extended delivery times, EWU is temporarily changing the T14 Standard and Performance models to a non-touch screen, which happens to be a bit brighter as well. We will update to touch screens as soon as supply constraints ease.
There are also CPU supply constraints, delaying shipments of most Lenovo computers (laptops and desktops) until mid-February. We will do our best to process your new computers as soon as they arrive at EWU!
Thank you for your patience.
EWU IT has developed a collection of pre-approved enterprise level computer hardware that is supported by IT, to expedite the computer ordering process. Below is a best practice guide. The goal is a 2-4 week turn-around time from order to client delivery/setup. Processing time may vary based on CDWG availability, shipping times, and overall volume of EWU hardware being ordered.
Overview:
-
Determine which hardware will best meet your needs by talking with your IT Coordinator or contacting the HelpDesk (helpdesk@ewu.edu, 359-2247). A quick reference listing of computers and accessories which are supported by EWU are further below.
- Any computers available on the CDWG web site, which are NOT listed below, are not supported by EWU.
-
Microsoft Surface Pro's are not supported by EWU. Surface Pro's should not be purchased by EWU.
- Notify your office manager/purchasing agent as to the type of computer hardware you would like to order.
- The designated office manager/purchasing agent will place the order through EWU’s custom CDWG portal at: www.cdwg.com/ewu
- After the order has been placed, the office manager/purchasing agent creates a Service Request. To ensure detailed tracking for individual people, please create a Service Request for each computer ordered, even if multiple computers are on the same order. Inventory Control needs to track each piece of hardware to each owner of the hardware.
- If the hardware being ordered is assigned to a specific person, choose the "Computer Hardware Puchase (Individual)" Service Request. If the hardware being purchased is for a Classroom, Lab, or other location where hardware is NOT assigned to a specific person, choose the "Bulk Computer Hardware Purchase" Service Request. Service Requests for Individual and Bulk Computer Hardware Purchases can be found here: https://support.ewu.edu (Click "SERVICE CATALOG" at top of screen, or "Submit a Request" link).

Ordering a Computer from CDWG:
-
Visit www.cdwg.com and sign in with your CDWG Account.
- The designated office manager/purchasing agent needs to have a CDWG account linked to EWU's account. If you do not have a CDWG account, create a new one by clicking CREATE ACCOUNT at www.cdwg.com/ewu (upper right part of screen).
- If you just created a new account, please email Drew Jach at drewjac@cdwg.com, requesting to link your newly created account to EWU.
- You will see a listing of approved computers and accessories supported by EWU IT. Click on items you want to order and add to cart. Note: You must be logged in with your CDWG Account for computers to be available for purchase. This is due to discounted EWU and WA State contract pricing not available to everyone.
- Please be aware of, and ignore, ads such as “other people ordered” or “recommended for you” that CDWG will put on their website. DO NOT click on the Eastern Washington University – Lenovo Standards button. They are typically populated with computers and accessories that are not supported by EWU IT. Only the computers and accessories listed on the first page are supported and recommended by EWU IT.
